Munch’s first word is either Daddy or Doggie?
I thought it was definitely yours truly, but last week made us second guess ourselves. As Munch followed us down the hallway of our condo building, he started saying “Daddy”—or so we thought.
When I responded with “Yeah, buddy?”, he was stopped in front of one of our neighbors, pointing at the door. The same neighbors who have two very large and equally loud dogs.
We thought it was a coincidence, until Munch stopped two doors down at another neighbors door. Guess what? Yep, they also have a dog, and the kid is standing there. Pointing. Chirping. "Doggie. Doggie. Doggie."
He looked at me. Smiled. Pointed. Chirped. "Daddy. Daddy. Daddy."
Surely, he can’t think we are one in the same: that his dad—is a dog? Then again, it might not be the first time someone has thought that…
What was the first word your son or daughter said?
